Breaking Dawn’s Renesmee Cast

via Entertainment Weekly

Nine year old Mackenzie Foy has been cast to play Renesmee, Edward and Bella’s vampire/human hybrid child in the final installment of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.

It’s not yet clear how the diminutive actress will portray the character considering the advanced maturation process that the character undergoes. Sources have suggested that director Bill Condon will employ similar digital effects to those used by David Fincher in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, where Foy’s face would be digitally transferred onto the face of a younger child. It’s also probable that the studio will hire a younger child in some capacity, too.

Summit Entertainment is remaining mum on the issue.

Breaking Dawn Grabs Top Spot in UK

via The Bookseller

Breaking Dawn takes top spot after just three days

24.08.10 | Philip Stone

The long-awaited mass-market edition of Stephenie Meyer’s Breaking Dawn (Atom) sold 48,673 copies in just three days, and tops this week’s Official UK Top 50—just over two years after the hardback edition first hit the shelves.

It is the sixth time Meyer has topped the Official UK Top 50 in 2010. The mass-market edition of book three in the Twilight series, Eclipse, was number one for the first two weeks of the year, while her Twilight novella, The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner, held the crown for three consecutive weeks in June.

Breaking Dawn – Largest UK Paperback Release of the Year

Via Victoria Gallagher, The BookSeller.com

UK Retailers are expecting the publication of Stephenie Meyer’s Breaking Dawn next week to be one of the “biggest paperback releases of the year”. The fourth novel in the Twilight series will be issued in paperback on August 19th.

Amy Worth, head of books buying at Amazon.co.uk, said: “We’d expect the paperback of Breaking Dawn to be one of the biggest paperback releases of the year, challenging hugely popular titles including Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol and Stieg Larsson’s The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets’ Nest. The Twilight franchise continues to do very well, as does anything vampire related as a whole, with Charlaine Harris’s True Blood also featuring several times in the top 100 alongside Stephenie Meyer’s series.”

Twilight Passes Two Million Mark

Only four authors have managed to surpass the two million mark in sales during the 21st century – Dan Brown, Mark Haddon, J.K. Rowling and now Stephenie Meyer.  For a book that sold a mere 1684 copies in 2006, the year that it was released, I think that it’s pretty safe to say that Twilight has far exceeded everyone’s expectations!  Add in the sales of New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn, and The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner and Ms. Meyer must be one happy author indeed.  Lucky Lady!
