Cover Reveal for Nalini Singh’s ARCHANGEL’S SHADOWS

The seventh book in Nalini Singh’s Guild Hunter series, Archangel’s Shadows, is set to be released in November 2014.
Nalini Singh, Archangel's Shadows, Guild Hunter

Return to New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh’s sensual and painfully beautiful Guild Hunter world in her new novel of sacrifice, loyalty, and the choices of love that can shatter the heart.

In the wake of a brutal war, the archangel Raphael and his hunter consort, Elena, are dealing with the treacherously shifting tides of archangelic politics and the people of a battered but not broken city. The last thing their city needs is more death, especially a death that bears the eerie signature of an insane enemy archangel who cannot—should not—be walking the streets.

This hunt must be undertaken with stealth and without alerting their people. It must be handled by those who can become shadows themselves…

Ash is a gifted tracker and a woman cursed with the ability to sense the secrets of anyone she touches. But there’s one man she knows all too well without a single instant of skin contact: Janvier, the dangerously sexy Cajun vampire who has fascinated and infuriated her for years. Now, as they track down a merciless killer, their cat-and-mouse game of flirtation and provocation has turned into a profound one of the heart. And this time, it is Ash’s secret, dark and terrible, that threatens to destroy them both.

…..

If you haven’t yet read Angels’ Pawn, which is the first time Ash and Janvier make an appearance together, you can find an excerpt here.

Angels’ Pawn is available on its own as an ebook and as part of the Angels’ Flight anthology in ebook and paperback.

Peeps, as you know I try to keep track of all of the paranormal books that come out and I post the New Releases on a fairly regular basis. I rely on Facebook and Twitter for much of this information, as well as various author newsletters, but most of it comes from trolling the Barnes & Noble site and their “Customers Who Bought This Also Bought” feature, as well as their New Releases page. And yes, I do check out Amazon on occasion as well. What this translates into is a phenomenal amount of time spent looking at book covers and researching more books than I’ll ever have the time to read.

Research purposes aside, it is very true that readers have a tendency to judge books by their covers and I myself have picked up more than one book/author just because I loved the cover art. Here is a list of my favourite paranormal covers of 2013.

The covers that I was drawn to at the beginning of the year tend to be a bit stark, with lots of white, black, and red being featured. I don’t know if this is a subconscious reflection of how I tend to feel during the winter months or just where I was emotionally at the time. As the year progressed though I was really drawn to golds, purples, and dark blues. And wings, apparently, but that’s no surprise as I love pretty much all winged creatures (and have the tattoos to prove it).

Over all though, I’d say my Top 3 choices are the covers for J.R. Ward’s Possession (those eyes!),  Kelley Armstrong’s Omens (scenery is a refreshing change from people and we need more green on covers) , and J.R. Ward’s Lover at Last (again, Qhuinn’s eyes!) – and just by coincidence, all three covers happen to be designed by Anthony Ramondo. Fourth place would go to Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Cloak & Silence (it’s stock photography and has been used on more than one cover this year but I love that man).

I wish that I could acknowledge all of the cover artists personally but unfortunately so few of them are publicly credited and I either don’t have the book in question or I simply can’t find their names. If you know the cover artists of the books on his list please share so that I can give them their due credit!

Cover Reveal for ARCHANGEL’S LEGION

Nalini Singh, Archangel's Legion, Guild Hunter

Nalini Singh has revealed another hot cover in her Guild Hunter series, with Archangel’s Legion, featuring Guild hunter Elena Deveraux and her sexy mate, the Archangel Raphael. I still love Elena’s wings, even though we’ve seen them previously on the cover of Archangel’s Consort. Beautiful!

——

Angels are falling from the sky in New York, struck down by a vicious, unknown force.

Vampires are dying impossibly of disease.

Guild hunter Elena Deveraux and the Archangel Raphael must discover the source of the wave of death before it engulfs their city and their people, leaving New York a ruin and Raphael’s Tower under siege by enemy archangels.

Yet even as they fight desperately to save the city, an even darker force is stirring, its chill eyes trained on New York…and on Raphael. Rivers of crimson and nightmares given flesh, the world will never again be the same…

Preview of Nalini Singh’s Archangel’s Storm

via RT Book Reviews

BY Morgan Doremus, FEBRUARY 29, 2012

Nalini Sing, Archangel's Storm, Guild Hunter

It is no exaggeration to say that everyone who knows me knows that I absolutely adore Nalini Singh’s writing. With her paranormal romance novels, Nalini never ceases to transport me to other worlds (or I should say alternate worlds) where shapeshifters, vampires and angels abound.

After making a name for herself — and stealing this reader’s heart — with her Psy/Changeling series, Nalini went on to create her Archangels books. At first the series focused on the Archangel of New York, Raphael, as he fought for power within the Cadre, the hierarchy of powerful angels, only to be distracted when his heart was unexpectedly conquered by vampire hunter Elena Deveraux. Raphael and Elena’s love story is complex and took several books to complete. But when these two finally found themselves on (relatively) even ground, it was time for another couple in the Archangel series to find each other. Continue Reading…

Damn that Nalini Singh…

I’m totally wrapped up in Nalini Singh’s Angels’ Blood at the moment… I read into the early hours of the morning this morning, totally not meaning or wanting to, but unable to help myself.  I kept promising myself that I’d stop at the end of the chapter but I just couldn’t.  Needless to say, I woke up with dark, puffy eyes, looking very much like death warmed over.  And I needed a mid day nap.  And I can’t get any work done until I finish that book… Damn Nalini Singh!

Raphael and Elaina are in the swimming pool / bathtub together, just about to finally get down to business…  Gotta go!
