BOUND BY NIGHT Cover Reveal

With so many of my favourite authors posting new covers lately it’s difficult to stay on top of them all. Here is the cover of the first book in Larissa Ione’s new Moonbound Clan Vampires series, Bound by Night, which will be coming out in September.

Larissa Ione, Bound by Night, Moonbound Clan Vampires

Nicole Martin was only eight years old when she narrowly survived a massacre: her family’s vampire slaves rebelled and killed everyone in her household. Twenty years later, Nicole now dedicates herself to finding a vaccine against vampirism…and eradicating the gruesome memories that give her nightmares.

Riker, a member of the wild vampire Moon Clan, is haunted by his own demons—his wife Lorraine had been captured and enslaved by the Martin family. It was during a botched escape attempt that she was killed, along with their unborn child. Still wracked with grief and anger, Riker is now fueled solely by the desire to rescue vampire slaves…and slaughter their owners.

When Riker stumbles upon Nicole in a chance meeting, he immediately recognizes her as a member of the Martin family that once enslaved his wife—and she recognizes him as the wild vampire she saw kissing a pregnant slave in the moments before her violent death—an image that has haunted her dreams for years.

When Riker kidnaps Nicole and they spend a night together in a cave on the way back to his clan, suddenly they begin to realize that they aren’t as different from one another as they may have thought—and they’re finding themselves drawn to one another…

Lethal Rider Surprise

As my readers probably know, I am a huge fan of author Larissa Ione’s Demonica and Lords of Deliverance series. Her particular demons, vampires, angels, and horsemen of the apocalypse are some of the sexiest supernatural creatures in print today.

I happened to pick up a copy of the third book in the Lords of Deliverance series this weekend, LETHAL RIDER, and was pleasantly surprised to find that her publishers included a quote from the review that I wrote for SIN UNDONE, the fifth book of the Demonica series. I had no idea that the quote had been included and it was such a thrill to see ParanormalBites.com listed along with reviewers such as Publishers Weekly, USA Today.com , GoodReads.com, and RT Book Reviews among others.

Writing Paranormal Bites is such a wonderful escape from my everyday life for me and supporting my favourite authors  is a true labour of love. The blog was conceived towards the end of my marriage and it has seen me through the turbulent time surrounding my divorce, a couple of moves, my return to school not once but twice in the past couple of years, and the adjustment involved in being a now single parent. It has suffered a few periods of sporadic posting as a result but I like to think of it as “the little blog that could”, much like it’s author.

Seeing my quote in LETHAL RIDER might seem like a small thing to most people but to me it was like receiving an unexpected act of kindness and it really made my day. Thank you so much Larissa and Hachette Books/Grand Central Publishing for the recognition! You’ve inspired me even more.

Larissa Ione, Lethal Rider, Lords of Deliverance

They are here. They ride. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

Thanatos, the most deadly Horseman of the Apocalypse, has endured thousands of years of celibacy to prevent the end of days. But just one night with the wickedly sexy Aegis Guardian, Regan Matthews, shatters centuries of resolve. Yet their passion comes with a price. And Thanatos must face a truth more terrifying than an apocalypse – he’s about to become a father.

Demon-slayer Regan Matthews never imagined herself the maternal type, but with the fate of the world hanging in the balance she had no choice but to seduce Thanatos and bear his child. Now, as the final battle draws closer and his rage at being betrayed is overshadowed by an undeniable passion for the mother of his child, Thanatos has a life-shattering realization: To save the world, he must sacrifice the only thing he’s ever wanted – a family.

Re-posted from our Facebook page -

We’re knee deep in the holiday season, Peeps, and I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of the wonderful authors who take the time to send me review copies,  signed books, and swag for giveaways on ParanormalBites.com. News Briefs

I apologize for the lengthy delay between posts, Peeps. I’ve been very busy with school (in fact I have an exam tomorrow that I should be studying for at this very moment) and I lost my dad 10 days ago so I’ve also been tied up with family matters. I’m determined to get Paranormal Bites back on track just as soon as I can but in the mean time here are some news briefs to help catch us up…

Great news for fans of Melissa de la Cruz’s Witches of East End! The series is currently in pilot production with the Lifetime TV Network. If the network likes the pilot, it will be picked up as a regular series!

Larissa Ione is working on a new vampire series set in a brand new world that will release from Pocket Books next summer and she will post more information as it becomes available.

Nalini Singh’s Kiss of Snow just won a Gold award for it’s German edition “Lockruf Des Verlangens” in the Fantasy section of the Leserpreis-Die besten Bucher 2012.

Shayla Black (a.k.a. Shelley Bradley) will be chatting live online at Writerspace tonight at 8pm Eastern. Just click here to join! http://www.writerspace.com/chat/

RT Book Reviews reports that Ron Moore of Battlestar Galactica fame has been signed to write the television adaptation of Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series.

The virtual signing for the hardcover release of Lara Adrian’s Edge of Dawn, Book 11 in the Midnight Breed series, is now open for orders at at www.LaraAdrian.com!

Books of Summer 2012 – Part 1

As I mentioned in a previous post, I got caught up in life these past few months (moving, returning to school full time, etc.) and Paranormal Bites suffered as a result. One of the things that got away from me was the weekly listing of new releases. I keep a perpetual spreadsheet but I neglected to actually post the releases so now I’m making up for it by posting all of the books that were scheduled for release this summer that I am aware of. I have not verified each release date as the list is extremely long but I believe that it is fairly accurate.

I know that May is technically still spring but it is where I left off on my regular posts so I’m starting there.
